I still cannot believe I turned my back on art for so many years. But it feels great to be back in the game. The crazy thing is I feel like I’m learning to draw all over again. Like I hit the reset button. Everything is new and, in some regards, I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m figuring things out as I go.
For me, there’s something magical in that discovery process. Isn’t that what art is all about? To dig deep into your soul and channel every ounce of that energy into your work? When that happens, figuratively, your art becomes you, and vise versa. And “you” are on display for all to see.
My guy @dmasonart often says “I am art”. I couldn’t agree more. When you see one of my finished drawings just know I put all of me into that piece. I am that drawing!
It feels good to be creating again, and sharing all of me… with you.
