University of Washington
From the moment you step into Husky Stadium, with Lake Washington stretching out beyond the field and a sea of purple filling the stands, you can feel it.
Energy. Tradition. Pride.
For generations, the University of Washington has built one of the most passionate and respected programs in college football.
Great players. Iconic moments. A fan base that shows up, no matter what.
But at the heart of it all is something even more recognizable.
Dubs.
For over a century, the live Husky mascot has been a symbol of the program. A constant presence representing everything the University stands for.
And for me, as a two-time graduate and lifelong fan, this project meant something more.
It was personal.
The artwork
One hundred years of Dubs.
A century of tradition, spirit, and connection between the team and the fans.
To honor that legacy, the focus was clear.
Create a piece that celebrates Dubs not just as a mascot, but as a symbol of Husky football itself.
Working in graphite, the goal was to capture that presence.
Strong. Loyal. Timeless.
A representation of something that has stood on the sidelines of a hundred years of moments.
20,000 prints.
Each one placed directly into the hands of fans as they entered the stadium.
The scale of it was incredible.
A packed stadium, thousands of people holding the same image, all connected by the same tradition.
Before kickoff, I held an autograph signing that brought out massive lines of fans.
People stopping by, sharing stories, connecting over the artwork and what Husky football means to them.
It was one of those moments where everything feels bigger than expected.
During the third quarter, something happened that made the entire experience feel surreal.
I was brought down onto the field with my wife and daughter.
In front of a sold-out stadium, my name was announced over the loudspeaker as they shared the story of the project and the artwork.
Standing there, looking out at over 70,000 Husky fans, it felt like everything had come full circle.
From student… to artist… back on the field.

On moments shared between generations. On pride that extends far beyond the field.
This project became a reflection of all of that.
A tribute to Dubs. A celebration of one hundred years. A moment shared by thousands of fans on a single day.
But for me, it meant even more.
It was a chance to give back to the place that shaped so much of my life.
To stand in the middle of Husky Stadium, surrounded by the energy of the program I grew up loving, and be part of its story.
Some moments stay with you forever.
This is one of them.
Always a Husky.
